CCNC Appoints 2 New Board Members

Henry Hawthorne and Lydia Newman have been appointed to the board of directors for the Community Care of North Carolina Inc., the health care management group announced in a recent press release.

Hawthorne is a retired Wilmington pediatrician with more than 47 years of experience. He serves as the associate clinical director of Community Care of the Lower Cape Fear.

Newman, the executive director of the Community Care of the Cape Fear, has more than 20 years of health care and public policy experience. She is the currently the chairwoman of the board of Cape Fear HealthNet and is a member of the board of directors for Coastal Connect and the N.C. Health Information Exchange.

Both Hawthorne and Newman will “oversee efforts to improve care for vulnerable populations,” the press release stated.
