Hugh Allen is TD Bank’s new commercial real estate regional director for the Carolinas, the bank announced in a recent news release. He is responsible for leading a team of lenders who focus on serving the financial needs of “top-tier developers; professional managers; and owner/operators of investment real estate,” the release stated.

He will lead a team in Wilmington, and will have offices in Charlotte and in Greenville, South Carolina, bank officials said.

Allen, a native of Texas, began his career with Coldwell Banker in Houston, and then entered the field of commercial real estate lending with PNC Bank. He has since worked with First Union and Wells Fargo banks, according to the release.

Active on the boards of directors for numerous organizations, including Global Diversity Summit of Commercial Real Estate, the Charlotte/Mecklenburg County Police Foundation and the Arts Empowerment project, Allen is a founder of African American Real Estate Professionals, based in Washington, D.C., the release stated.

He earned his bachelor’s degree at the University of Texas and his MBA at the Duke University Fuqua School of Business.
