LS3P Wins Awards For Two Commercial Projects In Wilmington

By Jenny Callison, posted Dec 2, 2014
Architecture and design firm LS3P has been honored by two professional organizations for its work on a number of projects in North and South Carolina, including two major commercial projects in Wilmington.

Five projects designed by architecture firm LS3P received awards at this year’s ASID Carolinas Design Excellence Awards event held in Greensboro.  The firm garnered one of its two first-place awards for the design of Live Oak Bank's headquarters in Wilmington, according to a news release.

The firm received its other first-place award and its three second-place awards for facilities elsewhere in the Carolinas, the release stated.

ASID, founded in 1975, is the oldest, largest and most prominent professional organization for interior designers, according to the release.

LS3P's design of a new headquarters for IKA Works in Wilmington earned the firm an Honor Award from American Institute of Architects (AIA) NC, according to a second news release. IKA Works' North American headquarters includes a new 16,500-square-foot building and a renovated existing facility that was built in the 1980s, the release stated.

AIA NC's annual awards program recognizes architects on a statewide level for "exceptional design expertise," the release stated.

Founded in 1963, LS3P provides architecture, interior architecture and planning services nationwide, according to its release. It has offices in Wilmington, Charlotte and Raleigh and in Charleston, Columbia and Greenville, South Carolina.
