On Friday afternoon, a new abatement order goes into effect requiring indoor face coverings in New Hanover County. That covers businesses, offices and other public spaces.
Meanwhile, the health rule around indoor masking is being considered by the county health board and is under a public comment period.
New Hanover County Public Health Director David Howard and county Health and Human Services board vice chair Kim Thrasher Horne spoke Thursday on this week's Wilmington BizTalk about the order’s details and how the mandate would work, including how it would be enforced.
