A new store on Oleander Drive is expected to open next week.

Practical Magic, which offers gemstones, crystals, handmade candles, essential oils, jewelry and more, is scheduled to begin welcoming customers at 10 a.m. Monday, said one of the owners, Carly McDonah.

Customers will be socially distancing and using masks at the store at 5740 Oleander Drive, which will limit customer numbers to half of the store's allowed capacity, she said.

"Everything that we were restocking was back-ordered, even a lot of our dishes to put our [handmade] candles in. We have finally managed to get everything in that we can," McDonah said, explaining the choice of July 20 as the store's opening date.

"The staff has been cleaning constantly," McDonah said. "We should be ready to go."

Carly McDonah founded the business with her sister, Nellie, and their mother, Amy.

Practical Magic, which also has a large online presence, used to occupy the house at 5008 Oleander Drive before leasing the 6,000-square-foot former Scuba Now location at 5740 Oleander.

Customers can expect to see a number of hand-poured candles at the store, among other popular products, Carly McDonah said.

"We have soy wax candles that have really beautiful embellishments on them. Apart from that, we have a huge selection of incense; we make our own essential oil perfumes. Everybody loves the roller bottle perfumes," she said. "We have thousands of products; we have a huge selection of different crystals and gemstones."

Practical Magic's inventory also includes 30 types of tea, 100 kinds of herbs and 15 types of smudge sticks.

Carly McDonah said, "We really always keep it fun and interesting."
