Roko Italian Cuisine has begun its yearly holiday gift card promotion, which this year will include the restaurant's homemade marinara sauce.

For every $50 gift card purchased, now through Christmas, customers will receive an additional $10 gift promotional card for free. Customers who purchase $100 worth of gift cards will also receive a jar of sauce.

A fixture on the Mayfaire dining scene since 2012, Roko specializes in unique Italian fare fused with local ingredients.

Chef Jadran Peros’s marinara sauce is used in menu items such as frutti di mare, linguini with red clam sauce and calamari fritta. Jars of the sauce and gift cards are available for purchase during normal business hours at the restaurant, and gift cards can also be purchased online.

“Small businesses need to innovate during this time,” said Roko Peros, chef Jadran’s son and co-owner of the family-run restaurant. “We love food and sharing it (the sauce) with Wilmington; packaging this marinara sauce is just one more way we can safely offer our customers the opportunity to enjoy our signature items.”

Roko Italian Cuisine continues to be vigilant following all CDC recommendations for COVID-19. While indoor and outdoor dining is available, orders can also be placed for curbside pickup.

Roko Italian Cuisine is located at 6801-105 Parker Farm Drive and is open Monday through Saturday from 5 to 11 p.m.
