Move over ice cream, frozen yogurt and cupcakes…cookie dough has arrived in Carolina Beach.
DOH! TOGO has opened at 8 Pavilion Way, Unit 7, on the Carolina Beach boardwalk. Owner Mary Mercier is serving 12 flavors of edible dough prepared with pasteurized eggs to insure it’s safe to eat.
Mercier said her top seller opening weekend was traditional chocolate chip, followed by peanut butter cup and unicorn – a hot pink chocolate chip creation topped with an upside down serving of cotton candy – with the stick serving as the unicorn horn.
In an attempt to serve those with dietary restrictions, Mercier has created a gluten free chocolate chip dough and is also carrying a variety of gluten free, soy free and vegan baked goods from Cravings of Wilmington.
“I’m so happy to be bringing these delicious, healthful creations from Cravings to the island,” Mercier said.
The edible dough can be served in a cup or cone, and topped with a variety of toppings or served alongside a scoop of ice cream as a sundae. There are also baked and unbaked ice cream cookie sandwiches.
“This is the new big thing and I’m super excited to introduce it in our area,” Mercier said.
DOH! TOGO opens at 3 p.m. Friday through Sunday from now until Memorial Day, when it will be open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday through Saturday.
