Local Which Wich franchisee Ben Brown will open a second Wilmington location at The Pointe at Barclay in mid-December.

Brown opened Which Wich’s Mayfaire location in 2006, after signing on with the company for a two-store deal. About a year later Brown began scouting out locations for his second store. After quite a bit of searching, he learned of plans for the Pointe, and although it was still two and a half years out, he knew that this area had the potential for huge amounts of growth and that it would be something worth waiting for.

Now, pending a few more inspections, Brown hopes to open the weekend of Dec. 15th.

“We’ve been waiting for the opening of the second store for a while now, and are very excited to serve our customers in that part of town,” Brown said. “So many people have told us how happy they are to have a Which Wich closer to home.”

The new location will be roughly the same size as the Mayfaire location, but Brown has incorporated some new design elements, such as banquet seating, to lend a cozier vibe to the space. There is also a covered patio for outdoor seating.

Upon opening the menu will be the same as the current location, but Brown said both locations will see some new menu items in January of 2018.

With the opening of the second store Brown hopes to further his connection with the community. Which Wich currently partners with the local Boys and Girls Club as well as the Boy Scouts and area homeless shelters. He also participates in the franchise-wide program Project PB&J, which donates a peanut butter and jelly sandwich to the hungry every time one is sold.

Which Wich is located at 920 Innovation Dr. in Mayfaire Town Center and is soon to be open at 1412 Barclay Pointe Blvd., Unit 1001.
