Henry’s And Check Six Brewing Co. Partner For Beer Dinner

By Jessica Maurer, posted Sep 14, 2016
Henry’s Restaurant & Bar in Wilmington will host a four-course beer dinner at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 1 in partnership with Check Six Brewing Co. of Southport.

“We’ve had great success with Check Six’s beers, so we wanted to take the partnership a step further and offer a chef-driven pairing dinner,” said Ray Verina, general manager of Henry’s, 2508 Independence Blvd.

The menu will feature local, seasonal ingredients such as North Carolina sweet potatoes, Heritage Farms pork, local greens and autumn vegetables. Each course will be paired with a Check Six beer and Chef Rex Horrell and Check Six brewers Noah Goldman and Wendy Hassel will mingle with guests and speak about each pairing.

“The beer pairing with Henry's is an event we are honored to be a part of,” said Hassel, director of taproom operations at Check Six. “We collaborated with the executive chef and manager to choose the best beers to go along with their amazing menu.”

The collaboration, said LM Restaurants marketing coordinator Tricia Robson, is an extension of Henry’s culinary promise to incorporate local and regional ingredients in their menu.

In addition to Check Six, Henry’s also serves beer from other North Carolina brewers such as Lonerider, Red Oak, Foothills and Wilmington Brewing Co.

Tickets are $45 per person, and seating is limited to 20 people. The full menu can be viewed on Henry’s website.
