Kim Connors, owner of Homemade Healthy Eats wants people to feel good about what they eat.

A massage therapist by trade, she grew up in the restaurant business and even owned a couple of restaurants years ago. Recently she realized that many of her massage clients were seeking meal delivery services to help them eat well without the hassle of all the planning and preparation involved in cooking for themselves.

Connors realized this was a service she could provide.

A health concern several years required Connors to pay closer attention to her diet, and since that time she has developed countless low-carb, low-sugar recipes.

“I saw that there was a need for healthy, home cooked meals that was the start of Homemade Healthy Eats,” Connors said.

Connors’ service provides customers with weekly menu options and a choice of delivery day, Monday through Saturday. All meals are prepared the same day as delivery, using local and organic products whenever possible, including organic poultry and beef. She does not use any processed sugar or artificial sweeteners, only natural sweeteners such as maple syrup or honey. She uses little to no processed foods in her cooking and even makes her own ketchup.

A portion of Connor’s menu stays the same each week and to that she adds about 10 weekly specials. She also works with customers on an individual basis to address individual dietary needs.

Connors, who is currently seeking a larger production kitchen, said she has recently taken on her first employee and is looking forward to growing the business.

“Using organic products, it’s difficult to keep costs down because they’re often more expensive, but I’m doing everything possible to make this accessible to people,” she said.

Homemade Healthy Eats will soon have a website that will allow for online ordering, but for now, anyone who is interested in finding out more about the service or signing up for the weekly menus can send an email to [email protected].
