Campani and her family moved home to her native Italy last year, where she has been working to create a new business, Culinary Journeys with Roberta.

This new venture offers travelers looking to explore Italy the opportunity to create a custom vacation packages tailored to their interests.

“Culinary Journeys is all about the food and the activities in between meals,” Campani said.

Based in Tuscany, Campani has access to the country’s finest villas, wineries, restaurants and cultural landmarks. She takes care of all the arrangements, from lodging to tours, outdoor activities and relaxation. And of course she cooks for and with her guests if they desire.

Campani enjoyed great success with a series of pop-up brunches while in Wilmington and will return to San Juan Cafe at 3314 Wrightsville Ave. on Aug. 7 to prepare an Italian-style brunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Menu items include: shrimp and polenta, prosciutto, Brie and arugula omelets, quiche with artichokes and smoked Gouda and French toast stuffed with mascarpone cheese and strawberries.
