Fried clams, stuffed fish and steamed crayfish and steamed oysters in their shells are among the 70-plus items offered at the new Seafest Gourmet Seafood Buffet in Carolina Beach.

A huge octopus sculpture hangs over the front door at 300 N. Lake Park Blvd., previously home to The Landing Bar & Grill. Inside, long buffet tables in the shape of sailboats, complete with sails, offer hot and cold entrees and side dishes, including crab legs, non-seafood items such as roast beef, fruit and desserts.

Bright fresh paint and more fun beach-theme sculptures decorate the dining room.
Sam Karos took over management of the location in late 2013 at the same time he was developing The Fat Greek Taverna, 6309 Market St., which opened earlier this year.
Seafest opened this month.

Karos and family came to Wilmington from Myrtle Beach, S.C., where they operated buffet restaurants, Karos said.
