The Property Shop International Realty announced this week the addition of an office in the Pender County town of Burgaw, at 213 S. Wright St.

Property Shop owner Tony Harrington said adding an office is a strategic move for his residential real estate and appraisal firm, which has a main office in Wilmington at 5900 Oleander Drive.

Over its 12 years in business, The Property Shop has been involved in sales in New Hanover, Brunswick, Duplin, Sampson and Pender counties, he said.

Of Duplin, Sampson and Pender counties, Harrington said, "Having my brokers work out of that area and seeing the possibilities in what was happening, we've always been keeping our eye open for the right city and the right area, and there's so much happening with Burgaw."

Harrington listed Burgaw Now, an initiative by entrepreneur Richard Johnson to revitalize the town of Burgaw and bring in more businesses, as well as the renovation of the Pender County Courthouse, 100 S. Wright St., as examples.

"There's a lot going on and we know that in order for us to be working in that community, we need to be a part of that community," Harrington said.

The Burgaw office is managed by Jamie Lynn Crist (pictured below), a local resident, who has been one of the firm’s top producers and has been a two-time Duplin/Sampson Council President and Board of Director member for Cape Fear Realtors.

Also launching the Burgaw office are April Shepard, Jeff Daw, Haley Moseley and Jason Worthy.

The brokers are already working in the 1,000-square-foot space in downtown Burgaw and experiencing what it's like to be in business in the small town, with walk-in traffic and neighbors who stop by.

"It's definitely a sidewalk community where our location is, so there's a great bit of hometown feel," Harrington said.

Between Wilmington and Burgaw, The Property Shop now has over 30 brokers, he said.

A grand opening of The Property Shop's Burgaw office, in conjunction with the Burgaw Area Chamber of Commerce, is expected to be held at 10 a.m. March 15.
