Lifeline Treatment Center Expanding With Oleander Drive Lease

By Cece Nunn, posted Jan 18, 2018

A Wilmington substance abuse treatment center is expanding with the lease of space on Oleander Drive.

Lifeline Treatment Center is moving from 220 Avondale Ave. to Suite 100 in the Oleander Business Center at 5710 Oleander Drive. The center’s new unit will give the center double the space, an increase from about 2,000 square feet to about 4,000 square feet, said the center’s CEO, Alexander Lind.

“As unfortunate as it may sound, we’re very busy and we quickly outgrew our current space,” Lind said.

Lifeline Treatment Center is expected to relocate to the Oleander Drive space sometime in February, he said. Although the details are still being worked out, the center will focus on an intensive outpatient program (IOP) that will be offered throughout the week during evening hours and possibly some hours during the weekend.

The center is currently licensed for IOP and substance abuse comprehensive outpatient treatment (SACOT), which requires patients to be seen Monday through Friday for a total of 20 hours a week.

Lifeline Treatment Center was initially licensed in July 2016. The center has about 11 employees, and psychiatrist Scott McClelland is the medical director.

Eastern Carolinas Commercial Real Estate broker Nicholas Silivanch represented Lifeline Treatment Center in the lease, and Deedy Vincent of Cornerstone Realty Group represented the landlord in the transaction, which closed after Christmas, according to ECCRE.
