A grocery store under construction in Brunswick County, the anchor of a more than 90,000-square-foot new shopping center, is expected to be open by May, a broker said this week.
The new 45,720-square-foot Lowes Foods at Midway Commons Shopping Center, located at the intersection of Midway Road and N.C. 211 across from the growing town of St. James, is scheduled to be open before Memorial Day weekend, according to a news release from Wilmington-based firm Cape Fear Commercial. Memorial Day is the last Monday in May.
Lowes will be offering fuel at a gas station opening in conjunction with the grocery store, located on an outparcel of the shopping center with direct access to N.C. 211, according to the release.
Tenants that have already leased space in one of the buildings under construction adjacent to the Lowes Foods include Wok n' Roll restaurant, Bozart Family Dentistry, Falcones Italian Restaurant, Great Clips and a nail salon, according to marketing materials.
CFC broker Bryce Morrison Jr. has been hired by Lowes Foods as the leasing/sales agent for the center.
"With construction nearing completion and warm weather approaching, the volume of interest in leasing and outparcel sales has increased significantly. We are excited to offer new retail and office space options to serve the southeastern Brunswick County area communities, including Southport, Oak Island, St. James, Bolivia and Supply, at Midway Commons," Morrison said in the release.
Retail space available for lease ranges from 1,120 to about 12,000 square feet, the marketing materials say. Midway Commons outparcels ranging from .46 to 2.27 acres are available for sale or ground lease or as build to suit.
