Virginia-based Contractor Opens Local Office

By J. Elias O'Neal, posted Nov 16, 2012

W.M. Jordan Inc., a general contracting firm emerging in the North Carolina market, will soon open an office in the Port City.

The Newport News, Va.-based firm announced Friday that it will occupy roughly 2,100 square feet of office space on the second floor of the Progress Point development at 1712 Eastwood Road.

Progress Point is a mixed-use development of office and retail space located at the corner of Eastwood and Military Cutoff roads.

The firm currently has offices in Richmond and Newport News.

Hill Rogers, broker in charge with Wilmington-based Cameron Management Inc. represented W.M Jordan during the recent long-term lease transaction for an undisclosed amount. F. Spurill Thompson, senior vice president and principal broker with Wilmington-based Cape Fear Commercial, represented Progress Point.

W.M. Jordan is a privately-owned company with total revenues exceeding $381 million for the 2011 fiscal year and is considered as one of the largest general contractors in the United States.

Rob Beale, who was formerly a project manager in the company’s Newport News office, will run the local office. Livian Jones, former vice president of John S. Clark Company’s Wilmington division, will oversee leads and development as the firm’s new North Carolina business development manager.

“We are excited about the opportunities that Wilmington and southeastern North Carolina have for us,” Beale said in a news release. “This is a great area to do business, and we look forward to maintaining a strong presence in eastern North Carolina.”
