KWIPPED Inc. has opened in its new headquarters in downtown Wilmington to support the company's growth and additional jobs in the coming years, according to a Wilmington Downtown Inc. news release.

The technology company, specializing in B2B equipment e-commerce solutions, has opened on the second floor of The Cotton Exchange at 379 N. Front St., KWIPPED officials said Tuesday.

The company's team had outgrown the former space, said KWIPPED CEO Robert Preville in the release.

The 5,600-square-foot office is more than double the size of of the company's previous location at 228 N. Front St., which was about 2,500 square feet, he said.

KWIPPED is an online marketplace offering B2B equipment rental, leasing and lease-to-own options through a large network of suppliers, officials said.

Recently, the company has developed a technology platform called APPROVE, which is an "equipment financing solution fueled by competition among a network of the nation’s top equipment finance companies," stated the release.

The new APPROVE product is growing very quickly, Robin Salter, chief marketing officer at KWIPPED, said Tuesday.

"We are having nice early success with it, and it's a very scalable product. It's the impetus of our growth," he said.

KWIPPED plans to hire several new employees, primarily for its sales force, he said.

“We’re planning to hire 20 to 30 new employees in the next two to three years, and this new space is perfectly suited to accommodate our aggressive growth plan," Preville said in the release. "We’re also excited we were able to stay in the heart of downtown Wilmington. The downtown vibe certainly aligns with, and adds to, the high-energy culture we’re building at KWIPPED."

WDI, along with Wilmington Mayor Bill Saffo, is expected to host a celebration of KWIPPED's opening at 11 a.m. Jan. 14.

Preville and Rob Kaiser are part owners of KWIPPED. Preville is part owner of the Greater Wilmington Business Journal along with Kaiser, who is publisher of the Business Journal.
