Eddie Anderson, New Hanover County Schools’ director of facility planning, is the recipient of the 2012 Planner of the Year Award. Anderson will also receive the national Southeast Region Planner of the Year Award. The Planner of the Year Award is presented annually to an individual whose professional activities have produced a positive and significant impact on educational facility planning, while adding to the body of knowledge and best practices in the field.

Century 21 Sweyer & Associates was named a Platinum Level Firm for second year in a row by Cartus Broker Network. Platinum is the highest of the Excellence Award recognition presented to qualified brokers.

Scooter Hayes, library staff member at New Hanover County Public Library, was named “mover and shaker” in the library industry by Library Journal. Hayes serves NHCPL as an early literacy consultant with Smart Start Raising A Reader, a program that supports daily book-sharing to strengthen parent-child relationships in a literacy-rich environment. Hayes has performed 331story times, distributed books to nearly 4,000 children and organized 30 community events, reaching a total of 3,736 people.

Intracoastal Realty announced top performers for the month of February. Debbie Mitchell won Closed Volume Team of the Month. Mark Bodford won Closed Volume Agent of the Month. Vance Young won Listing Team of the Month and Under Contract Volume Team of the Month. Paula Ferebree won Listing Agent of the Month and Under Contract Volume Agent of the Month.

Ron Meyer, director of information technology for Wilmington Health, was elected chairman of Cape Fear Technology Leadership Exchange. This organization was created to offer information exchange and fellowship for technology leaders in the Cape Fear area. Meyer will be the group’s first chairman and he will serve for one year.

Law firm Smith Moore Leatherwood has added Brian Morrison to its Wilmington office corporate team. Morrison will provide corporate and estate planning for individual and corporate clients in the fields of taxation, estate planning and estate administration. In addition, Morrison will offer counsel to businesses, families and individuals on life planning issues. Morrison received a B.A. from the University of North Carolina Asheville and a Master of Laws in Taxation from the University of Florida’s Levin College of Law.

Donald C. “Clem” Seifert Jr. has joined IronGate Partners as the newest wealth advisor. Seifert has served with Edward Jones for 15 years and he specializes in financial planning and investment management for families and individuals.

TD Bank has named Scott Sharp as regional vice president for its North Coast and Wilmington regions of the Southeast U.S. Sharp oversees commercial and small business lending and related services for the 18 TD Bank locations throughout the region. Sharp joined TD Bank as a VP relationship manager in 2009 and has recently served as VP commercial team leader in commercial lending. Sharp received a B.A. from SUNY Cortland and a Masters from Converse College.

Lagniappe Promotions has hired Monique Williams as its marketing director. Williams is responsible for creating communication systems for the company’s major accounts. She has increased the online presence of Lagniappe Promotions through the use of LinkedIn, Twitter, Company Blog and other social media outlets. Williams graduated from UNCW last December with a degree in integrated marketing communications.
