With a fresh, contemporary look the Holiday Inn at 5032 Market St. is undergoing renovations and planning a grand reopening when they are complete.

Director of sales Karen Hilla said with the exterior of the building, guest rooms, restaurant, lobby, lounge, bar and meeting spaces renovated, the indoor pool can be refurbished by January. The hotel will host The Center for Missing Persons annual conference in March. Hilla hopes to recruit more corporate meetings for statewide conferences.

The hotel can now accommodate a buffet dinner for 125 people, classroom-style set up for 100 people and theater-style for 225 participants. A wedding ballroom with dance floor accommodates 100 people.

“For the Fort Fisher 150th anniversary celebration [in January], we’re giving a special rate with breakfast included,” Hilla said. She is coordinating round-trip trolley transportation from the hotel to Fort Fisher.
