Poplar Grove Plantation Makes USA Today List

USA Today listed Poplar Grove in its “10 Best: Historic Southern Plantations”.

“Situated north of downtown Wilmington, the country’s oldest peanut plantation offers numerous attractions and family-friendly activities,” the online article stated.

The museum inside the 1850 manor house, live craft demonstrations and captivating exhibits to educate visitors on such topics and tenant farming and emancipation, the article stated.

Other historic plantation sites included Boone Hall in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, Magnolia in Charleston and Oak Alley in Vacherie, Louisiana.
