TDA Names Board Members

By Susan Hance, posted Mar 17, 2014
The New Hanover County Tourism Development Authority (TDA) recently announced its 2014 board officers and also passed a measure in support of the state’s film tax incentives.

According to a press release, Carl Marshburn, owner of Cape Fear Riverboats, will serve as board chairman. Frank Jones, general manager of Suburban Extended Stay Hotel, is vice chairman. Chuck Pennington, owner of The Verandas bed and breakfast continues to serve as secretary. Lisa Wurtzbacher, New Hanover County’s finance director, is the board’s treasurer. And Angela Rhodes, co-owner of Catch Modern Seafood Cuisine and Phun Seafood Bar, serves as at-large member on the executive committee.

The new officers were elected at the TDA’s meeting in February. During that meeting, the board also adopted a resolution supporting a five-year extension of the North Carolina film incentive in its current form to carry beyond the 2015 end date.
