NHRMC Center Foundation Receives Sizeable Donation

By Ken Little, posted Feb 24, 2017
Live Oak Bank recently donated $250,000 to the New Hanover Regional Medical Center Foundation to support the Betty H. Cameron Women’s and Children’s Hospital.

The donation, given by the Wilmington- based bank, was announced in January. It will endow NHRMC Foundation’s fund for the Women’s and Children’s Hospital and continue its mission “to provide compassionate, innovative and high-quality care to patients,” a hospital news release stated.

“We are honored and grateful to Live Oak Bank for this extremely generous gift. It is a testament to their philanthropic support of our community and to the hospital team who is dedicated to providing quality care to the women and children in our region. Our patients, their parents and loved ones will benefit from this gift for many years to come,” Schorr Davis, NHRMC Foundation’s vice president of development and executive director, said in the release.

With the donation, the lobby of the birthing center has been named for Live Oak Bank.
