Lower Cape Fear Hospice & LifeCareCenter has hired Deborah Brasic as a nurse practitioner in Pender and New Hanover counties.
In the position, Brasic provides hospice and palliative care to patients with advanced illness and is responsible for using expert skills in history taking, physical examination, initiation and interpretation of tests, analysis of data and the implementation and daily re-evaluation of the plan of care for patients, according to a news release.
Brasic participates in the medical management of patients in conjunction with hospice and palliative care physicians in home, hospital, nursing home and physician office settings.
She received her bachelor’s and master’s of science degrees in nursing from the University of North Carolina Wilmington.
Brasic was previously a family nurse practitioner with Coastal Carolina Radiation Oncology for 12 years. Prior to that, she worked as a staff nurse at New Hanover Regional Medical Center and was a clinical instructor at Cape Fear Community College’s LPN program. Brasic also has a certification from the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
