Good Shepherd Center Announces 3 New Board Members

The Good Shepherd Center has announced three new members to its Board of Directors.

Alex Hargrove Sr., Lauren Henderson and Alison Parker were each elected to three-year terms on the board, according to a press release.

Hargrove will serve on Good Shepherd’s financial development committee working with legacy and planned gifts. Hargrove serves as first vice president, wealth management at UBS Financial Services. He is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and has worked in the wealth management industry since 1977. Hargrove previously served on the board of Good Shepherd’s Clark James Foundation and helped to manage the agency’s endowment funds.

Henderson (left) will serve on Good Shepherd’s finance, budget and audit committee. She is the CFO at CastleBranch, where she and her team provide guidance and help shape and support the critical financial component in the company’s growth. Over the past 10 years, Henderson has grown with CastleBranch starting in the accounting department and developing into the financial leader of the organization. She holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Ramapo College of New Jersey and a master’s degree from the University of North Carolina Wilmington.

Parker serves on Good Shepherd’s financial development committee providing guidance and support for its annual fundraising events.

Parker (right) is an obstetrician and gynecologist at Wilmington Health OBGYN where she has been since 2012. She attended medical school at the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University and did her residency at Mountain Area Health Education Center in Asheville. She currently serves as the department chair of OBGYN at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

“We are delighted to have such diverse and talented members joining the Good Shepherd family as board members,” Kate Woodbury, Chair of Good Shepherd’s Board of Directors, said in the release. “We are grateful for their time and commitment to our mission.”
