The Friends of the New Hanover County Arboretum have named Kym Davidson the organization’s new development director.

Davidson has experience in nonprofit fundraising, both as a professional and as a volunteer, and she has been involved in the Wilmington community for more than 11 years, according to a news release.
 
Immediate fundraising efforts include corporate and individual sponsorships for the completion and maintenance of The Durwood Baggett Contemplation Garden, honoring the five branches of the military, which will open Nov. 11. Other projects will include premiere events, membership growth and securing overall funding for new exhibits and garden grounds.
