Seeing its membership and business volume swell in northern Brunswick County, Corning Credit Union has built a larger facility in Leland to accommodate that growth, credit union officials said.

The new 3,000-square-foot, full-service branch at 2036 Olde Regent Way replaces the credit union’s leased space in the Logan Homes Building at 60 Gregory Road. CCU held a ribbon cutting on March 18.

Features of the new facility include a large banking lobby, video teller machines, multiple drive-thru lanes and a drive-thru ATM.

The video teller machines have sparked significant interest among CCU members, said Ron Proper, market development manager for the credit union. The machines, which provide two-way audio and video interaction with CCU representatives in the credit union’s video-based call center, allow members to make cash and check deposits, cash withdrawals, money transfers, loan payments and contact information updates. Members can also get answers to general questions about their accounts.

CCU serves more than 1,200 members in Leland. In addition to the Leland branch, locations in Wilmington on Racine Drive and Patriot Way serve the credit union’s total area membership of more than 10,000, a release from the company stated.
