Shannon Ackermann Sandlin has opened a new Edward Jones branch office at 1430 Commonwealth Avenue, unit 100, the firm announced this month.

Sandlin, who has more than 15 years’ experience in the financial services industry, worked with Merrill Lynch as an undergraduate and then spent 11 years as a bond trader with Merrill Lynch and Bank of America. After that she went into private wealth management and moved from Charlotte to Wilmington last spring when she married.

Deborah Bomberger, administrator of the new branch, said that Edward Jones has about 25 offices in Brunswick, New Hanover and Pender counties.
