Wilmington and Beaches Convention & Visitors Bureau has announced the addition of Barry Stepe to its team.

Stepe joins the Wilmington and Beaches CVB as director of marketing, stated the release. He held a previous role with  DeKalb County Convention & Visitors Bureau in Georgia as the marketing manager, a position he had for 15 years.

Stepe’s role will allow the Wilmington and Beaches CVB to further expand its strategy, multimedia content development, promotions and product development, meetings and sports marketing and other initiatives that align with its strategic plan, stated the release.

“We welcome Barry Stepe to the CVB’s marketing team. Barry’s qualifications and experience will be a great asset as we implement marketing initiatives that align with the Tourism Development Authority’s Strategic Vision Plan,” said Kim Hufham, president and CEO of the New Hanover County Tourism Development Authority (doing business as Wilmington and Beaches CVB), in the release.

The Wilmington and Beaches CVB also announced that Molly Johnson (right), its director of convention sales, has earned a Qualified Association Specialist certification. She was also recently appointed to the 2020 board of the Professional Convention Management Association-Southeast Chapter to serve a one-year officer term as secretary and treasurer.

“We also congratulate Molly Johnson on her new certification and recent board appointment," Hufham said in the release. "We applaud Molly’s professional development pursuits and her continued service in respected trade organizations."
