The New Hanover County Board of Commissioners has made its 2019 appointments to the county's Tourism Development Authority (TDA), according to a news release.
Those appointed and reappointed individuals are:
Patricia Kusek, a New Hanover County commissioner, has been reappointed to serve on the TDA Board as the New Hanover County Commissioner representative.
Nicole Jones, general manager of Courtyard by Marriott Wilmington/Wrightsville Beach, was appointed to represent Wilmington hotels (with less than 150 units).
Christine Divoky, executive director of the Friends of Fort Fisher, Fort Fisher State Historic Site, was appointed to represent New Hanover County attractions.
Angela Rhodes, co-owner of Catch Restaurant, was reappointed to represent New Hanover County restaurants.
LeeAnn Pierce, owner/manager of Drifter’s Reef Hotel, was reappointed to represent Carolina Beach hotels.
Chuck Pennington, owner/manager of The Verandas B&B, was reappointed to represent Wilmington bed and breakfast inns.
Officers were elected at the TDA regular board meeting March 27, the release stated. They are:
Daniel Perkins, assistant general manager of the Hotel Ballast, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, was elected board chairman.
Jason Spencer Bryant, general manager of Bryant Real Estate, was elected board vice-chairman.
Angela Rhodes, co-owner of Catch Modern Seafood Cuisine, was elected board secretary.
Lisa Wurtzbacher, New Hanover County finance officer, will serve as treasurer of the authority as directed by the enabling legislation (HB 1707).
Nicolas Montoya, general manager of the Blockade Runner Beach Resort in Wrightsville Beach, recently completed his second term as board chairman and will continue to serve on the executive board as immediate past chairman.
The New Hanover County Tourism Development Authority, doing business as Wilmington and Beaches Convention and Visitors Bureau, is the official destination marketing organization which promotes travel and tourism for the Wilmington area.
