The NCRWA is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping their members attain the highest standard in drinking water and wastewater service, according to a news release from Pender County. The organization serves members statewide and is governed by a volunteer board of directors from the association's membership.

Keel has experience with this organization, having served on the NCRWA board of directors when he worked for the town of Hillsborough, North Carolina, the release stated.

“We are very pleased to have Kenny Keel in this leadership role, advocating for Pender County and the statewide water quality,” Randell Woodruff, Pender County manager, said in the release.

Keel has served as the county’s utilities director since 2017.
