The UNCW College of Health and Human Services (CHHS) has welcomed Amy Mangus as its new marketing and communications coordinator.

In this role, Mangus will serve on the leadership team within CHHS, according to a news release from officials with the University of North Carolina Wilmington. She began her new role in late March.

“I’m honored to be selected for this position,” Mangus said in the release. “I’ve enjoyed a 20-year career in public service -- four at East Carolina University -- and I’m happy to be back on a college campus."

Born and raised in Raleigh, Mangus earned her associate of art from Saint Mary’s College and her bachelor of art in communication from East Carolina University.

Mangus said she has followed UNCW and its activities for years. “From research to cultural activities, UNCW is a gem in this community,” Mangus said.

Mangus said she was particularly interested in the work CHHS is doing to help individuals, families and communities live healthier and empowered lives, which is what led her to apply for the position.

“I’m excited to develop and implement a marketing and communications strategy for a college that has grown so rapidly and whose students, staff and faculty are enhancing health and quality of life,” Mangus said in the release.
