The Wilmington International Airport (ILM) has welcomed two new members to the New Hanover Airport Authority Board.

W. Lee Williams and Harry W. Stovall were each appointed by the New Hanover County Board of Commissioners on June 19 and will serve four-year terms, according to a press release from ILM.

Williams, who has lived in Wilmington since 1987, is the vice chairman of Live Oak Bank and one of the original founders of the Bank, according to the release.

Williams has managed and planned the startup and development of the 11-acre Live Oak Bank campus and has managed individual building construction projects.

Prior to starting Live Oak Bank, he spent 19 years in corporate banking at Wachovia and worked for 14 years at Vine Street Financial doing SBA lending.

Williams is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He has, and is currently serving on several private company boards and has served in the capacity of President and Treasurer on numerous charitable and not for profit groups in Wilmington and elsewhere in North Carolina.

With a lifetime interest in aviation, Williams is looking forward to supporting the long-term plan for the airport’s infrastructure, officials said in the release.

Stovall, a native to the Wilmington area, previously served the board between 2003 and 2011, and served as board chair. He is a principal of Commonwealth Commercial Properties and the broker in charge. He has been licensed since 1972 and has his contractor and broker licenses.

Stovall (left) is a commercial and residential developer in the Wilmington market. He recently earned Realtor Emeritus Status for his 40 years of service to the real estate community. He is also active with the Board of Realtors and the Realtors Commercial Alliance.

Stovall and Williams join five current-serving board members, including Chairman Carter T. Lambeth, Vice Chairman Dan Hickman, Secretary Donna Girardot, Thomas Wolfe and Thomas C. Barber II.
