Janette Fernandes, director of marketing at St. James Plantation, has earned a "Special Judges Award" from the Printing Industry of the Carolinas (PICA), according to a release from St. James.
 
Fernandes received the award for the new “Lifestyle Brochure” she conceived and designed last year for the 6,000-acre marina, golf and beach club community near Southport. The brochure details the extensive variety of social clubs, activities and amenities at St. James, officials said in the release.
 
Fernandes shares the award with Brenda Klee, sales executive with The Printing Port in Myrtle Beach, which printed the St. James brochure.
 
The PICA Award is the latest in a number of recent awards and accolades for St. James, including its designation as one of the "Top 50 Master-Planned Communities" in America by Where to Retire magazine.
 
The community also received two ‘Best of the Best’ awards from Ideal Living magazine – "Best Boating Community" and "Best Golf Complex."
