NHCS Names Four New Administrators

The New Hanover County Board of Education named one new principal, two new assistant principals and a new program director shortly before the fall semester began, according to a news release from the school district.

Ronald Villines is the new principal of Williston Middle School. He comes to the district from Graham, North Carolina, where his administrative experience includes terms as assistant principal and principal of Graham Middle School as well as assistant principal at Graham High School.

He earned a bachelor's degree from East Carolina University and a master's degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, according to the release.

Ogden Elementary School has a new assistant principal: Stephanie Washington, who has been a teacher at the school since 2003. She completed her administrative internship at Ogden Elementary as well, the release stated.

Washington is a graduate of the University of North Carolina Wilmington and earned her master's degree from Gardner-Webb University.

Jeff Swanson (at right), the new assistant principal at Virgo Preparatory Academy, was most recently the assistant principal for student services at Granville Central High School in Granville County, North Carolina. He has been a teacher at New Bern High School and an intervention coordinator at South Brunswick High School, according to the release.

Swanson earned both his bachelor's and his master's degrees from UNC-Greensboro.

The new program director for Wilmington Early College High School is Donnie Watkins, who previously served as the high school dean at Triad Math and Science Academy in Greensboro, the release stated. He has been the graduation coach for Asheboro high School and served as student services administrator, program coordinator and counselor in other school settings. He is a graduate of UNCW and holds a master's degree from American Intercontinental University.
