Dosher Names Whitman Head Of Nursing Center

Early this year, Doug Whitman was named the administrator of Dosher Nursing Center, a provided service of Dosher Memorial Hospital, 924 N. Howe St. in Southport.
 
Whitman’s job entails being responsible for the management and direction of the 64-bed nursing facility. Whitman has been a licensed nursing home administrator since 2006 and is a certified nursing assistant. For the past 10 years he has also been a licensed assisted living administrator and has run six assisted living facilities and nursing homes.
 
“It’s exciting for me to become a part of Dosher Nursing Center,” said Whitman in the news release. “The Nursing Center has a long history of providing quality care for seniors in our community and the Brunswick County area. I look forward to its continued growth, both in the number of people we serve and the quality of care we provide.”
 
Whitman received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Arkansas and his MBA in health care management from Duke University. He resides in Wilmington and has lived in North Carolina for the past 15 years.
