Harrell Honored With Statewide Award

By Jenny Callison, posted Nov 11, 2014
Local attorney Kent Harrell was recently honored as a Leader in the Law by Elon University School of Law and North Carolina Lawyers Weekly, according to a news release. The award was conferred at the fourth annual Leaders in the Law awards luncheon, held in Raleigh.

The award honors legal professionals who go above and beyond in their profession and their community.  This year’s 30 honorees represent the most influential individuals within North Carolina’s legal community, the release stated.

“The nominations – submitted from across the state and from a wealth of resources – were many. And the nominations alone are a testament to the great work practiced day in and day out in North Carolina by so many dedicated men and women. The honorees were selected by an independent panel of judges who made decisions based on not only expertise in the profession, but commitment to their community,” the release stated.

Harrell, whose practice is based in Burgaw, is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and N.C. Central University School of Law. His areas of practice include criminal defense, family law, wills and estates and civil litigation, according to the release.
