The National Society of Tax Professionals has presented Wilmington accountant Marie Izzo with the Clarie Robinson Award for exemplary service and for voluntarily taking on leadership roles within the organization and community, the accountant’s firm announced.

The award was given to Izzo “in gratitude for selfless gifts of time, talent and contributions toward the effectiveness and excellence of the National Society of Tax Professionals,” according to the organization's recent news release. 

Izzo is currently in her third year of teaching nationally for the NSTP and teaches classes locally at the Cape Fear Community College Small Business Center. She is also senior accountant at John Izzo CPA and an enrolled agent, which is highest credential awarded by the IRS, the release stated.
