Gov. Pat McCrory announced in a recent press release the appointment of Daniel Dawson to the North Carolina Environmental Management Commission.
 
Dawson is a consulting engineer and land surveyor in New Hanover County. He specializes in economic development and municipal infrastructure, according to the release.
 
The commission is responsible for creating rules that will insure the “protection, preservation and enhancement of the water and air resources of the state,” according to the release. The term length is six years.
