David Grandey has been named as sales and marketing manager of Wilmington-based Highland Roofing Co., according to a news release.

Grandey joins Highland’s senior management team and will lead the firm's account management team, stated the release. He is also overseeing marketing and community relations.

“Highland is well regarded for its ability to consistently deliver high-quality results,” Grandey said in the release. “I look forward to working with the Highland team to provide even greater value to our customers as the company continues to expand its footprint.”

Grandey joins the firm with more than 15 years of experience in sales and marking. He previously served as operations manager at Wilmington-based HDI Construction.

He also worked at a commercial general contractor in California as a relationship manager and was vice president of sales and marketing for another California firm.

“David’s track record of consistently delivering solid sales results and managing sales teams to achieve high levels of growth makes him the ideal person to move Highland forward,” said Iain Fergusson, president and owner of Highland Roofing Co., in the release. “David’s core skills of business development and relationship building will contribute greatly to Highland and our goal of providing quality roofing solutions for commercial and industrial customers throughout the Carolinas.”

Grandey is chair of the Partnership Committee for Cape Fear Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) and of multiple committees with The Wilmington Rotary Club. He also serves on several other local committees and boards.

The firm also announced it was awarded the 2020 Perfection Award by Carlisle SynTec Systems, a manufacturer of single-ply roofing materials, according to a news release.

The annual award recognizes some of Carlisle’s contractors "who have a seven-year track record of exceptional installation quality and excellent warranty claim performance," stated the release.

“We take pride in working with industry-leading manufacturers such as Carlisle to deliver quality performance that our clients can rely on,” Fergusson said in the release. “We are honored to receive this award and value the trust in place we enjoy through our relationship with Carlisle."
