History Museum Installs New Directors

By Joe Lowe, posted Mar 17, 2015
The Wrightsville Beach Museum of History appointed four new directors at its 2015 annual meeting.

Linda Vescovi, Helen Buckley, Marcia Staunton and Pete Manolukas join the board with the intent to “preserve and interpret the history of Wrightsville Beach,” according to a press release. Each new director has ties to the area and stays active in the community.

Vescovi has worked for Onslow County, Wilmington and Wrightsville Beach as a coastal planner. She brings an array of experience in town and disaster planning, dealing with downtown improvements and historic development and preservation efforts, the release stated.

Buckley worked as a State Farm agent for 30 years. She comes with a history of volunteer work with Surfers Healing, Habitat for Humanity and the Wrightsville Beach Longboard Association.

Staunton currently serves as the office manager for Aladon LLC. In addition she previously served on the Landfall Foundation Gala Committee.

Manolukas is a board-certified physician at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. He says his interest is “to contribute to a community that I have grown to love since early childhood,” according to the release.
