The University of North Carolina Wilmington named Rosalynn Martin the associate vice chancellor for human resources, according to a news release. Martin began her duties this month.

As associate vice chancellor, Martin works with the executive cabinet to develop extensive plans related to human resources programs and practices, according to a news release from the university. She will work under the direction of UNCW's vice chancellor for business affairs Rick Whitfield.

“Rosalynn is a great addition to our senior management team in Business Affairs and the university community,” said Whitfield in the release. “She is an accomplished human resources professional, and her recruitment represents accomplishing another milestone in our strategy to build the next generation Business Affairs team at UNCW.”

In her role as UNCW’s chief human resources officer, Martin will be in charge of maintaining and recruiting a diverse workforce and an inclusive workplace, according to the release.

“I’m excited about this opportunity and look forward to applying my skills and experiences to guide the development of talent management strategies,” Martin said in the release.

Martin most recently worked as the director of human resources at Jacksonville State University in Alabama and has nearly 20 years of experience as a senior human resources officer in corporate and municipal environments and academia, the release stated. She earned a doctor of education degree from the University of Memphis, an MBA from Jackson State University and a bachelor’s degree from Alcorn State University.
