Local Firm To Create 25 New Jobs In Wilmington

By J. Elias O'Neal, posted Jan 11, 2013

Wilmington-based HomeInsurance.com will soon add to its workforce.

Kylie Craig, Red Ventures director of corporate communications, said Friday the firm plans to hire 25 people for inside sales positions with the firm.

Charlotte-based Red Ventures – a technology company that works with clients to generate leads and sell products – acquired HomeInsurance.com in April 2012 for an undisclosed amount from its original founders Carlos Largomarsino and Jana Bell.

HomeInsurance.com plans to host an interview day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 17 at its headquarters, 4829 Carolina Beach Road.

Red Ventures currently employs roughly 1,500 people in its metro Charlotte, Wilmington and Miramar, Fla. and San Antonio offices.

“The past 12 months have been incredibly successful for HomeInsurance.com, and we’re anticipating even more growth in 2013,” Craig said.

Largomarsino said Friday’s job announcement is one of many to occur in the coming months as the firm plans to boost its Wilmington employment base by an additional 200 people.

“We’ll make another announcement in 60-90 days,” said Largomarsino, who serves as senior vice president with responsibility to Red Venture’s HomeInsurance.com division. “We plan to make them quarterly.”

Largomarsino said his division was experiencing growth because of the firm’s partnership with banks and mortgage firms. He added that constant upgrades and enhancements to the division’s two websites – HomeInsurance.com and Homeowners.com – and paid search options with Google have also helped drive new customers to the company.
