Wilmington-based startup Vantaca is now occupying MegaCorp Logistics’ former headquarters at 7040 Wrightsville Ave. in a move that will allow the company to continue to grow.
“It's set up for us perfectly, so we will be able to ultimately probably hire up to a hundred people and operate out of that office," said Dave Sweyer, CEO of Vantaca.
Vantaca, which provides software solutions for homeowner association management companies, moved to the first floor of the building in October with plans to occupy the whole building in the next 12 to 18 months, Sweyer said.
The space allows all Vantaca employees, currently 32, to come together in one location.
Previously, Vantaca’s employees where divided between a space at 1630 Military Cutoff Road and other remote locations.
Its developers were in Atlanta. With the new space, they have relocated to Wilmington.
“The goal was to co-locate all in one office, if you will,” Sweyer said. “So, we've consolidated almost everybody. We still have two remote employees, but we've got everyone else under one roof now.”
The move comes at a time where the software company has seen growth in the community management industry.
Vantaca provides customized workflows, banking integration, communication and task management and is available through an app, which Sweyer said are innovative solutions that have influenced its growth.
Sweyer, who is also the founder of Community Association Management Services (CAMS) and Sweyer Property Rental, said Vantaca was able to grow and move to the new space with the help of Ryan Legg and the Wilmington business community in general.
“Ryan Legg, who owns MegaCorp Logistics, has been very generous in letting us work with him on the real estate space,” Sweyer said. “That’s been a nice benefit to us. Other local businesses, as we kind of navigate different needs, have been very helpful and friendly.”
Sweyer said he hopes to double the number of Vantaca employees by the end of 2020.
