UNCW Names New Associate General Counsel

Julia Wicker Lee
Julia Wicker Lee has been appointed associate general counsel for the University of North Carolina Wilmington.
 
Before joining the UNCW Office of General Counsel this past summer, Lee was a partner with Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP in Raleigh, where she managed and led client service teams for two Fortune 500 clients. She was a member of the banking and capital markets, administrative law, creditor’s rights and commercial litigation teams. Lee was also a partner with Williams Mullen, where she managed a legal team consisting of two associate attorneys, two paralegals and two legal assistants.
 
Her legal team was responsible for handling more than 150 cases for a Fortune 500 client.
 
“We are thrilled to have Julia join our team. Her extensive private practice experience is well suited to our needs,” said John Scherer, UNCW general counsel, in a news release.  
 
Lee graduated magna cum laude, Lambda Pi Eta, from Wake Forest University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications. She received her law degree from Wake Forest University School of Law, where she was a member of the Moot Court Board, Order of the Barristers and the Student Bar Association.
