A local company has been selected to present a pitch as part of a conference hosted by NC TECH in May, according to a press release.

Wilmington’s Essential Personnel was named one of six companies that will participate in Startup Showcase, a competition during the State of Technology Conference in Raleigh.

Essential Personnel has a software-as-a-service application for managing public safety professionals. The product is described as a “complete system” providing a performance evaluation system and personnel management; tracking of critical incidents, injuries and exposures as well as providing support resources and flexible training and data reporting.

The company was also named a semi-finalist of the Spring 2022 NC IDEA SEED Grant in March.

Other early-stage companies selected include Archetype Marketing from Arden, Cybershield Security in Huntersville, Edison marks in Weaverville, MapRecruit in Cary and MuukTest from Raleigh.

During the virtual competition, the startups will have a pre-recorded, five-minute pitch for their innovative solutions that will be presented to business and technology leaders from across the state who will vote for the winner, according to the release.

All of the selected companies have an innovative product or solution that is likely to have an impact on the ever-changing digital or cloud environment, the NC TECH website stated.

The 2022 State of Technology Conference will be held at the Raleigh Convention Center on May 12. There will be a keynote speech from Rohit Badlaney, vice president of product management and strategy at IBM Cloud. There will also be breakout sessions and an exhibit showcase.
