MIKE HUNTER
Founder/coach/CEO,
Pivot Launch Coaching

At Pivot Launch Coaching, Mike Hunter helps companies tap into an entrepreneurial mindset to thrive in today’s economy. Sometimes that means exploring the latest technological innovations, and other times that means trying to engage with companies that are decidedly “low tech.”

But that variety of clients is part of why he loves his job.

To stay plugged into the latest business buzz, he’s a fan of LinkedIn’s blog and newsfeed, as well as The Milspo Project, TED Talks and Fast Company.

Barbell Business, the Barbell Shrugged podcast, is “a great all-around show that focuses on health and business with great business insights.” Other podcasts on his playlist include The Art of Charm, The Art of Manliness, the #AskGaryVee Show from entrepreneur Gary Vaynerchuk, Startup Grind and those from NPR.

For books, he recommends Ashlee Vance’s biography on Elon Musk. “Talk about new and old tech smashing together – perfect example of the new economy, new manufacturing, new business. Whether it’s SpaceX, Tesla or Solar City, Elon is a modern blend of Henry Ford and Nikola Tesla.”

His most used apps are Stitcher for podcasts, Audible for listening to books in the car, LinkedIn, of course, and Headspace (meditation and mindfulness app), 17hats (business management app), Facebook, Instagram and Waze.

Gear-wise, he’s in love with his Chromebook and is one of the early adopters of Google’s Pixel phone. (He likes it so far.)
