Wireless Providers Make Investments In NC

U.S. Cellular recently invested $7.9 million in network, stores and community support across the state, according to a press release.

About $4.4 million went to improvement to the network including 4G LTE enhancements and upgrades to the company’s existing high-speed network, officials said. Another $3.4 million was invested in the wireless provider’s stores.

In 2014, 21 stores were built or renovated to make them hands-on and experiential, including in Wilmington.

AT&T also recently announced that it has invested more than $1.6 billion in wireless and wired networks in the state between 2012 and 2014. That included 400 network upgrades and launching U-verse with AT&T GigaPower in the Raleigh-Durham and Winston-Salem area, according to a news release.
