Company Takes Employee Performance To Cloud

By V.L. Craven, posted Mar 13, 2015
Wilmington-based Cornerstone Business Advisors recently launched a new entity, Performance Culture Inc., with a cloud-based platform for employee performance management.

The company uses several steps for its Performance Culture System for users to communicate to its employees company goals and how they fit into those goals as well as coaching for managers and employees in how to communicate more effectively, officials said. The final step is providing a way to assess different types of performance from individuals all the way up to company-level.

The cloud-based platform for the Performance Culture System was developed when Cornerstone managing partner Dallas Romanowski realized the firm had a great deal of information in spreadsheets.

“There was just a lot of data there – you want to capture all of that historical data,” he said.

First, they created a database. After that, Romanowski says, “I had this vision that this would be a really cool, cloud-based app that we could expand nationally with and offer to thousands of clients and really target other HR consultants and business coaches.”
The Performance Culture platform launched about six months ago and currently has 300 users.

“The goal is to have over 100,000 users within five years,” Romanowski said.
Company officials will be attending the Society for Human Resource and Management national conference in June, where they hope to pick up more clients.

The firm named Melissa Phillippi as president of Performance Culture, which also raised seed capital from two angel investors, according to a news release.

Phillippi has been with Cornerstone Business Advisors since 2012. After the Performance Culture System was created, she was a beta tester who helped refine the system and worked with Romanowski “to make it an all around ‘real life use’ system,” Phillippi said in an email.

“Outside of Dallas, I know our system the best and have learned how best to implement it in businesses and help their teams achieve high performance,” she said.

Phillippi’s position at Cornerstone is employee performance coach. She continues to hold this position while heading up Performance Culture.

The jobs are similar in that she focuses, “mainly on training folks in and implementing the Performance Culture System for area businesses.

I also provide customized sales training for a further increase in sales performance,” she says.
