There’s a new kid on the block for Nextdoor, the website and app where neighbors can discuss everything from suspicious activity to lost pets.

In late August, the City of Wilmington launched its presence on the social networking site.

Officials said they would use it “to share important news and updates, services, programs, public events and emergency notifications that are relevant to particular neighborhoods,” according to a news release.

On nextdoor.com, residents can join networks of individual neighborhoods by verifying their
name and address.
