Taste of the Town is back. The annual fundraiser aimed at supporting Thalian Hall is returning to the stage after a two-year pause during the pandemic.

“We are so excited to have Taste of the Town return. It serves as one of our premier events throughout the year and it’s purely a benefit for Thalian Hall,” said managing director Jarrett Donmoyer.

This year, the event includes 12 participating restaurants that will open their doors to ticket holders. In a two-hour turnaround, two trolleys will leave Thalian Hall, and diners will head out to sample “the favorite and most popular items” on the menu of what each particular restaurant has to offer.

They will sample and quickly re-board the trolley before heading to the next eatery.

Restaurants included on this year’s tour include past favorites Elijah’s Seafood Restaurant, The Pilot House Restaurant and Anne Bonny’s Bar and Grill. First-time participants on the tour include Three10, Sauce'd and Ruth's Chris Steak House. Other favorite downtown establishments will also participate in the tour.

Donmoyer said that the restaurants are all located downtown in the Water Street area. This year, restaurants in the Brooklyn Arts District and North Fourth Street area are included in the tour.

A new feature will be incorporated into this year’s event. “After ticket holders return, we will welcome everyone back [to] the Thalian Ballroom where everyone can sample desserts and have coffee,” Donmoyer said.

He adds there will be a bar and, for the first time, there will be a raffle drawing for ticket-holders.

Taste of the Town takes place Sept. 28 at 6 p.m. Check-in time begins at 5:45 p.m. Tickets are $70 each.
